Lizzie's Sweet 16

Lizzie turned 16 this summer and she had such an incredible celebration. I worked with Melissa from Jenny Orsini Events on the stationery for this event using purple, pink, and orange with a fun, modern design.

I came up with these purple metallic pochette invitations with a triple layered invitation inside, embellished with Swarovski crystals. Each invitation was wrapped with a patterned bellyband and also contained an RSVP postcard. I also designed a logo that was carried through on the gobo, the step & repeat, and even the custom pillows for the lounge area.

Having fun with the step and repeat:

Marketing materials for Jersey Flipbooks

Josh from Jersey Flipbooks (and NJ Photobooths) asked me to design some marketing material for him -- he wanted to do a square card that could hold a sample flip book and contain all of the basics one might want to know. I created a simple logo that we tied in with the cards, and found these great square boxes that the samples were mailed out in. We used charcoal gray and bright yellow as the color scheme.

Here's what I came up with:

All boxed up and ready to go!

Logo design

Here's a logo I designed for Kelly and Jillian's yoga business, Sthira and Sukha. The name means Strength and Softness in Sanskrit.

The logo features two women in dancer's pose with an om incorporated in the background. I love the colors and fonts used in this one!

If you are local to Central NJ, check out their Facebook page to get their class schedule!

Carnival Party Details

Remember the carnival invitations from a few months ago? Tiffany from Blue Box Luxe just sent me some photos from Stephen's First Birthday Party--looks like it was an amazing event! I designed the signs and logo (which we used on custom printed napkins, drink stirrers, and beach towels) to match the invitations. Enjoy!

Airplane themed 2nd Birthday Invitation

My sweet boy started to obsess about airplanes a few months ago, right around
when I started planning his second birthday. Here are the invitations
that I came up with for him....

I was torn between doing a traditional flat 5x7 invitation, a boarding pass,
and a passport. I decided to just go for it with an airplane ticket folder
 and a boarding pass-style invitation.

The folder:

the Dietrich Airways logo was carried through on all of the stationery:

I love the "2" that the plane makes in the background -- if you look closely,
you'll see it in the middle of the invitation, too:

One of the many details -- pilot wings for all of the kids, plus ones for hubby and I!

I purchased foam gliders online as a craft for the kids -- everyone had an opportunity to use markers, stickers, or paint (for the older kids) to customize their own glider. Here's the one I made -- after they decorated their glider, they got the pair of wings made with their initial.

logo design for All About You Events

Happy Summer everyone! I can't believe the summer is half over -- it's gone by so quickly!

I recently designed a new logo for All About You Events.

They are based in Washington, NJ (near Clinton) and offer a variety of services -- from full out wedding design to day of coordination, as well as a la carte services. The owner, Cindy, is warm, friendly and great to work with. For this logo, Cindy asked for something somewhat traditional but with a modern flair and wanted to use red and turquoise (one of my current favorite color palettes).

What do you think?

blog headers & facebook profile pics

I had a client contact me last month and asked me to create a logo design that she could use on her blog and facebook page. Here's the final product -- if you're on facebook, be sure to become a fan. You'll get some great recipes to try and also will have a chance to enter in some giveaways. You can thank me later! ;)

Here's the blog:

Logo love

In addition to designing invitations and announcements, Jar of Ideas also creates logos and business stationery.

Here is a logo I created for Liz's yoga business.

The logo is based on the medical cadacus (the snake and staff symbol you see at doctor's offices), which is actually based on the chakra energy system that governs our bodies. Each energy point on the logo uses the element and colors of the chakras.

In addition to the logo, I designed business cards for Liz.

If you are in the Philly / South Jersey / Trenton area, I would highly recommend giving her a call if you are interested in studying yoga with such a wonderful woman!
