Our nest is full -- Birth Announcement Design

Kristin asked me to design the baby announcements for her 3rd son. She wanted to use "Our nest has grown" as the theme for these. Here's the finished design:

Christening Invitations

My long-time client, Dana, asked me to design the invitations for her son's Christening. She wanted something using baby blue and silver with some sort of embellishment. This is what I came up with-- a white metallic card with a blue and silver argyle pattern and a silver satin ribbon belllyband that wraps around each invitation:

Plaid Family Tree Birth Announcements

Lisa found the birth announcements that I created for Alana and contacted me to create a family tree announcement for her son. Here's the chosen design -- isn't he just adorable?

Patriotic "firecracker" birth announcements

My friend Kristin asked me to design the birth announcements for her second son. She was due in early July and wanted to use "our little firecracker" as the theme for the announcements. Her son was born on the fourth of July and I had a lot of fun with these. The top two are the front & back of the designs she chose.

Photo Birth Announcements

I'm working on some first birthday invitations for one of my clients and wanted to share their birth announcements. We had some beautiful photos to choose from and had a lot of fun with these!

These were double sided 5x7 announcements, with a great vintage pink motif on the front and incorporated into the background as well.

It's a girl!

My family welcomed a new baby this summer -- a little four-legged girl! Here are the puppy announcements that I created and sent out with our Christmas cards. Better late than never! It's fun to see how much she's changed since we brought her home. :)

These are a great size card and give lots of room for photos -- I've gotten so many messages from friends and family about how much they have loved Gracie's announcements!

Family Tree Birth Announcements

About 2 years ago, Lisa contacted me to see if I could create her vision for her daughter's announcements. She wanted to have a photo on the front and a family tree on the inside of the announcement--a great way to show off her baby's family heritage and who she's named in honor of.

Here's what I came up with. The photo is diecut to create a tab --a glue dot can be used to keep it closed. The tree features snowflakes on the branches since Alana was born in December. This can be created with leaves or flowers for a fall or spring baby, too.

Here's the email I got from Lisa when the announcements arrived to her:

"Oh, Jen, I could cry!!!  They are beautiful!!!  They are exactly what I envisioned!!  It is so exciting to actually see and hold them!!!  I cannot wait to get them out and see what people think!!! Thank you so very much!!!  They are everything I'd hoped they would be!!!!"

Die Cut Birth Announcements

Shannon contacted me to create birth announcements for her newborn son. She was interested in something incorporating pastel blue, a train/plane/boat, and no photo.

I came up with these diecut folded cards with a circular window on the front that shows the sailboat peeking through. We used the same sailboat motif and used it with the baby's name on the front of white folded thank you notes that she can use for baby gifts, christening gifts, etc.

Here are the birth announcements I created for my son. These are a 7" x 5" announcement with a folding panel so that 2 photos can be included.


Here is Dietrich with his rottweiler stuffed animal -- a toy version of our Leo -- these had to be incorporated into the design somehow!


I wanted to include photos of our grandparents that he's named for, so I included them on the back of the announcement.
